Patricia Manfield

Recognizable from countless street style snaps, Patricia Manfield's irreverent fashion sense is what may have first garnered attention but it's the up-and-coming singer's hauntingly beautiful music that we suspect she'll be remembered for. This season, the Moscow-born and Milan-raised creative joins us in support of a world made more beautiful by better choices.

We know that you're close with your girl gang, how do they inspire you?

My best friends are all such different people, but with crazy wild souls. They inspire me each day by just being themselves. They teach me that beauty is in diversity and in loving yourself.

You're known for your unexpected approach to style, what's your favorite way to wear denim?

Wearing denim under dresses or with a white T-shirt and a crazy pair of heels.

Are there any parallels between how you compose a song with how you craft an outfit?

The one thing that both of them have in common is that there's no starting point. I'll get an idea one day, note it down and end up using it weeks later.

What do you consider when you're shopping for denim?

A good fit, a nice wash and the cut.

What was the first pair of jeans you bought?

I think it was a pair of black skinnies when I was a teen.

If you could live in one style of denim, what would it be?

I love a good straight jean. Mom jeans are probably my favorite.

DL is deeply rooted in environmental change and the conflicts of today's society, what causes do you feel most connected with?

I'm very sensitive when it comes to both, which is why I can relate to this campaign. At the end of the day, creating awareness for things that affect both us and the next generations is our main job as future parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Human beings have the power to create and our best ability is to build things to make our conditions better. That's exactly what we should do for our planet and our society: build opportunities for a better living and appreciate human rights.

From fashion to music to blogging, you've got your hand in everything. What's next for you?

I love being involved in a million different things. It keeps my creativity going. But music's my main priority, it's the only form of expression that truly lets me say it as it is.
