Brian Feit has the distinctive job title of “Chief Buzz Officer” for BMF Media, which he founded nearly ten years ago, with its headquarters in New York City. Brian could never have imagined that when he first “hung his shingle” to start the fledgling company, before FACEBOOK, before TWITTER and before much of today’s now established social media outlets, that BMF would be building its own brand, while promoting, developing and introducing others’.

Being the face and the smart, warm personality people have grown to love over the years, was all he had to offer and build on… and it worked. His current client list reads like a hip WHO’S WHO.

How did he do it? With a lot of sweat and commitment and good taste. Taste, it would appear, is, indeed, everything. With an impressive and ever growing team of “cultural engineers,” BMF dives into everything which includes marketing brands, producing events, introducing new products and enjoying a strong presence, on behalf of countless clients, at the biggest and most prestigious music events of the year, as well as music and film festivals, high- profile charity events, political gatherings … and the list goes on and on. Impressive indeed. The BMF name has become synonymous with excellence, meticulous planning and execution and will undoubtedly be found at just about any event associated with any item or brand that might be currently trending – sunglasses, cologne, music, coffee, coconut water, alcohol & spirits, clothing, etc. …. ad infinitum.

That also means that Brian and many of his team of “tastemakers” often find themselves on the road, very often having to pack for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, covering as many as 5 events over the course of that time, and in just as many cities.

Different locations, countries and climates … packing the right things is crucial, especially as many events can progress from day to night. This is only one of the reasons that dl1961 denim fits his lifestyle. After all … if you’re gonna promote “lifestyle” … don’t you think you should “look the part?"

Brian serves as the Chief Buzz Officer for BMF Media. Richard Jay-Alexander has been part of the stage world for over 30 years. He was a dancer, singer and actor in two minor roles on Broadway and later branched into stage management. He was executive director of the New York office of producer Cameron Mackintosh. Cameron Mackintosh is known for productions including Les Misérables, Cats, The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon Jay-Alexander ran Mackintosh's North American operations for ten years.

Denim is universal. Regardless of your style or the kind of lifestyle you lead, denim plays an integral part in all our lives. We identified a select group of distinguished New Yorkers with a unique sense of style to represent DL1961's Denim Movement. Each of the following participants is a personification of the DL1961 brand: a pioneer in their respective profession with notable achievements in his/her undeniably demanding industry. Beginning June 1st and running throughout the summer, we will highlight a progressive New Yorker making great things happen in their field. At the end of August, once all nominees have been revealed, fans can then vote for their favorite denim movement member on our website.
